Safety Rules
This company is committed to safety and has taken steps to protect you from injury on the job. Your help is vital for your own protection. Please observe the following Safety Rules at all times:
- Notify your supervisor of any unsafe condition, accidents or injury immediately.
- Do not start or operate tools and equipment without authorization and safety instruction from your supervisor.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Do not tamper with, render inoperative, or remove guards from tools or equipment.
- Follow proper lifting and bending techniques; always lift with your legs, not with your back; get assistance with heavy loads or loads that may obstruct your view.
- Always use ladders for their intended use and make sure that they are positioned correctly and secured before climbing.
- Keep your work area clean and neat at all times and free of excess debris and clutter.
- Store items so that they do not result in blockage of walking paths, escape routes or constitute a potential fire hazard.
- Electrical cords should be free of splices, exposed wires or cracked or frayed ends.
- Electrical tools and equipment must be grounded or double insulated. Do not use extension cords or other grounded three pronged power cords that have the ground prong broken off.
- Know where fire extinguishers and emergency evacuation routes are located.
- Management will not tolerate an employee who is under the influence of intoxicants, drugs or medicine which may result in injury to himself or others.
- Indifference or inattention to safety instruction or rules, uncontrolled temper, horseplay and taking shortcuts on the job are all potential sources of accidents and will not be tolerated.
On The Road
- Maintain company vehicle.
- Follow all rules and laws of the road, especially the wearing of your seatbelt.
- Notify your manager/supervisor of any accident IMMEDIATELY!

I, the employee, have read these rules, understand them and will obey them for my own benefit. I also acknowledge l have received a copy of the Safety Policy Statement (located in the “Employee Keeps” section pg3-3a)

When injury is caused by the willful refusal of the employee to use safety equipment or obey safety rules, the workers’ compensation benefits can be reduced by 25% (Florida Statute 440.09)
